Critical Mass explained.

Here's a link to an explanation of Critical Mass when referenced to cycling. I didn't have a full understanding myself but this Wiki page is pretty good. There are usually rides like this in most cities. After reading this I think I'll have to join in one of the Huntsville rides and see if its as much fun as it sounds.

Pay this guy to meet Kenny Chesney! This is funny.

My new road bike.

So here's my new road bike. For about 2 years I have been riding an Orbea Lobular. That is/was a nice frame with an aluminum front triangle and a carbon rear triangle. Me and some guys I ride with from time to time were putting in a lot of miles and a lot of climbing in preparation for the 3 State 3 Mountain century in Chattanooga that took place this past May. My Orbea Lobular was starting to make a lot of creaking noises for about a week. It sounded a lot like the bottom bracket was loose and the bike just needed to be serviced. I took the bike into the local bike shop I use and after a lot of work the mechanic found that the carbon fiber rear triangle was coming apart at the bottom bracket. I was initially upset because it meant I wasn't going to be able to ride in the 3 State 3 Mountain Century. I did however ride my off road racer in a 12 hour enduro I had previously planned on riding in before committing to the century so that worked out. Anyway, the frame was under warranty so it was sent back to Orbea. Orbea no longer makes the Lobular frame version I was riding so I ended up with a new Orbea Orca frame set. The picture is of my complete bike. The frame set is a 2009 size 57 Orbea Orca running Shimano Dura Ace 7800 group set. I'm using FSA K-Wing bars (carbon) and an FSA K-Sword carbon fiber stem. In the cockpit I'm using a Garmin Edge 305 and a wireless VDO cycle computer.
